Who We Are

We are Knight Shift, a STEM Racing Team from Northern Secondary School, located in Toronto, Canada. STEM Racing is an international engineering competition where high school students compete to design and build the best F1-inspired racing team. We are a mostly girls team competing in the National Competition in April in North Bay, Ontario, where we will be evaluated across multiple fields, including engineering, branding, portfolio, sponsorships, a pit display, and the race. Our engineers are designing, testing, and improving our vehicle in preparation for Nationals, while our branding team designs logos, our pit display, our uniforms, and connects with sponsors.

A main principle of our team is involvement in community outreach. As part of our outreach, we have pledged to focus on sustainability during our manufacturing process by partnering with sustainability non-profits to make our manufacturing process environmentally friendly. Along with that, we have pledged to reach out to local Indigenous leaders to ensure that our team honors the land it’s situated upon. We believe that this connection will strengthen our team as we work towards Nationals.
